About Me
My name is Alec Thornton and I am a music producer, composer, and audio engineer from Newark, Delaware. My music journey started when I was a toddler. By the age of 4 I was already exposed to numerous genres of music. I began choir in the 2nd grade and remained in choir through my Senior year of High School. My range of music spans from the likes of Incubus and rock, to Michael Jackson and pop, to Mozart and classical, to Notorious B.I.G. and rap, and finally, to the electronic sounds of deadmau5. I am currently signed to the record label 'Emergent Music' and have several releases under my production alias "Artura ". I am continuing to broaden my range in music production while also refining my sound as an artist.
My love for electronic music began in my Sophomore year of High School. My uncle introduced me to two artists that led to me falling in love with the craft of music production. This hobby has led to some incredible opportunities for me. I started in the regular workforce as a corporate banker trying to work my way up the traditional corporate ladder when I decided to go back and attend the school I initially wanted to go to after I graduated high-school (Full Sail University) at the age of 25.
Music production is something that will always simply be a part of my life but outside of that - I want my career to also involve the technical side of the craft. So, because of my vast knowledge and experience in dealing with the creative realm of music, I have become proficient in learning the technical side of engineering and recording tracks in a studio setting. I have the ear to work on numerous projects and assist other artist in reaching their goals no matter the genre.
